Pardon my hissy fit

I am tired of being puked all over!

I am tired of cleaning myself up only to be spit up on again five minutes later!

I am tired of generating an entire extra load of laundry every single day!

I am tired of waking up smelling like baby puke!

*ahem*

Now that I've got that out of my system, I can get back to admiring my adorable little baby. I'll take him over dry clean clothes any day. And smelling nice? Overrated.

  1. Having anosmia (a from-birth condition where I can smell very, very little) I don't know what it is like to smell my baby's puke. Or poo. Or pee. But I also don't know what it's like to smell her clean head after a bath, or that "newborn smell" everyone talks about. Or even delicious food cooking in my kitchen. Not that it makes it any more fun to be covered in spit-up (even without smelling I can fully empathize with how GROSS that can feel) I am sure but as a silver lining, at least you get to smell good smells too...

  2. Ohhhh, I have so been there! This is a tough stage and it's hard to balance life with a newborn and a toddler. Hang in there!

  3. So understandable. My baby was a "happy spitter". Spit up after ever nursing session and then some, but was growing and happy. The spitting tapered off so gradually I don't remember when I stopped carrying a burp cloth with me at all times.

  4. Funny. All moms have been there. Comfort in numbers? My first time stopping by. Lovely blog.
